Capital One Bowl

The Capital One Bowl features a Big Ten Conference representative against a representative from the Southeastern Conference (SEC). Formerly known as both the Tangerine Bowl and the Florida Citrus Bowl, the Capital One Bowl is one of the oldest bowl games still being played today. Held at Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Florida, the Capital One Bowl has had Capital One as the title sponsor since 2001. The Capital One Bowl is also one of the most highly-visible bowl games in all of college football. Each year CapitalOneBowl.com features a mascot challenge directing fans to their Website, CapitalOneBowl.com, to vote for their favorite mascot. The commercials run throughout the college football season and make the Capital One Bowl a very well-known name. The 2007-2008 Capital One Bowl mascot challenge was won by an unlikely mascot, Zippy, the mascot of the Akron Zips of the MAC. Zippy was the winner of the online voting polls at CapitalOneBowl.com.
