Michigan State Wolverines Football Bowl History
The Michigan State Spartans have a long football history dating back to the 1890s yet have not had the historical success of Big Ten rivals Michigan and Ohio State. The Spartans competed in just four bowl games prior to 1984 before George Perles guided MSU to 7 bowl games in 12 seasons. Michigan State has played in the Rose Bowl four times in program history, more than any other individual bowl game.
