The GameAbove Sports Bowl, formerly known as the Quick Lane Bowl, is an annual postseason college football bowl game played in Detroit, Michigan. While not run by the same group that ran the Motor City Bowl, this Detroit bowl game replaced the Little Caesar’s Bowl and has many of the same bowl tie-ins, date, television and of course the same location in Detroit, Michigan. Like the Motor City Bowl for years, the GameAbove Sports Bowl features a Mid-American Conference (MAC) representative against a representative from Big Ten. The GameAbove Sports Bowl is played each year at Ford Field, home of the Detroit Lions and was tied to the ACC from 2014-2019, but unlike the Motor City Bowl, this game’s tie-ins are not based on the final conference rankings.
The 2024 GameAbove Sports Bowl set an all-time bowl game record when Toledo defeated Pitt 48-46 in 6 overtimes.
