Famous Idaho Potato Bowl History & Scores
Formerly known as the MPC Computers Bowl and the Humanitarian Bowl, the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl has historically featured a match-up of the Mid-American Conference (MAC) against a representative from the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) or Mountain West Conference. With conference changes and different bowl tie-ins changing, the American, Big West, Sun Belt and ACC have all sent teams to Boise for the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.
The Famous Idaho Potato Bowl is held on the blue turf at Bronco Stadium in Boise, Idaho, and the game has had many title sponsors in the past, including Crucial.com from 1999-2002 and MPC Computers and the bowl was named the Humanitarian Bowl from 1997-2003 before retaking the Humanitarian Bowl name again in 2006-2010. 2011 marked the first year that the bowl was called the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl and Utah State was a participant in both 2011 (loss to the Ohio Bobcats 24-23) and 2012 (win over the Toledo Rockets). Boise State, the host of the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl, appeared in this bowl game 4 times since between 1999-2005.
