Pinstripe Bowl

The Pinstripe Bowl is an annual college football postseason game held at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York City. Established in 2010, it has become a notable event in the college football landscape, bringing the excitement of bowl games to the Northeast.

The inaugural Pinstripe Bowl took place on December 30, 2010, featuring a thrilling matchup between Syracuse University and Kansas State University. Syracuse emerged victorious with a narrow 36-34 win, setting the stage for the bowl’s reputation for competitive games.

Initially, the bowl featured teams from the Big East Conference and the Big 12 Conference. With conference realignments, the affiliations shifted. Since 2014, the Pinstripe Bowl has typically featured matchups between teams from the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and the Big Ten Conference, aligning with the regional fan bases and enhancing the bowl’s appeal.

Over the years, the Pinstripe Bowl has seen changes in its title sponsorship. In 2022, Bad Boy Mowers, a company specializing in lawn care equipment, became the title sponsor, leading to the official name: the Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl.

Yankee Stadium, primarily known as the home of Major League Baseball’s New York Yankees, provides a unique and historic setting for the Pinstripe Bowl. The stadium’s rich sports heritage and modern amenities offer a memorable experience for players and fans alike.
